AI renders from SketchUp that keep your model

Send the current view, or every scene at once, from SketchUp to OctopusWave and get photoreal renders back next to your model. Same volumes, same proportions, same camera.

Free download. 5 free renders with every account. Download for SketchUp (.rbz)

What it does

  • Render the active view, or every scene in one style
  • Day, dusk and night versions of the same camera
  • Material options: three palettes on the same building, each one editable
  • Use a preset style or your own reference image
  • Place a finished render back into SketchUp next to its scene
  • Reads the Shadows time, geo-location and painted materials already in your model
  • Existing building: turn a photo into an editable model that arrives in SketchUp to scale, on separate tags
  • Ask Octo, the OctopusWave assistant, in plain words

Install in four steps

  1. Download the .rbz file.

  3. Choose Extensions, OctopusWave, Connect. Your browser opens with a code: approve it, then click OK in SketchUp.
  4. Send a view with Send View to OctopusWave, or every scene with Send All Scenes.

Questions

Is the SketchUp plugin free?

The download is free. Every OctopusWave account gets 5 free Model Link renders; after that the plugin is part of the Studio plan, or you can pay per render with credits and no subscription.

Does it change my model or my camera?

No. The plugin only reads the view you send. The render keeps your volumes, proportions and camera; OctopusWave changes surfaces, light and atmosphere.

How do I sign in?

You connect with a short code. Your browser opens, you approve the plugin in your OctopusWave account, and SketchUp receives a token. No password is stored in SketchUp.

Does it work on Mac?

The extension is tested on Windows. Mac has not been tested yet, so it is not listed as supported.
