Model Link › Rhino

AI renders from Rhino, straight from your viewport

Push the active viewport, a named view or all of them from Rhino into the OctopusWave canvas. The editable 3D model can come back into Rhino at real scale, on its own layers.

Free download. 5 free renders with every account. Download for Rhino 8 (.rhp) · Rhino 7 script (.py)

What it does

  • Send the active viewport, a named view, or every named view at once
  • Docked panel in Rhino with sign-in status and auto-push when the view changes
  • Photoreal renders that keep your geometry and camera
  • Receive the editable 3D model back into Rhino at real scale, on its own layers
  • Rhino 7: a Python script sends views (it cannot receive models)

Install in four steps

  1. Download the .rhp file and close Rhino.
  2. Drag the file onto the Rhino window and click Install.
  3. Type OWConnect. Your browser opens with a code: sign in and click Approve plugin.
  4. Type OWPushView to send a view, or OWPushSavedViews to send every named view.

Requirements

  • Rhino 8 (Windows)
  • A free OctopusWave account

Questions

Is the Rhino plugin free?

The download is free. Every OctopusWave account gets 5 free Model Link renders; after that the plugin is part of the Studio plan, or you can pay per render with credits and no subscription.

Does it change my model or my camera?

No. The plugin only reads the view you send. The render keeps your volumes, proportions and camera; OctopusWave changes surfaces, light and atmosphere.

How do I sign in?

You connect with a short code. Your browser opens, you approve the plugin in your OctopusWave account, and Rhino receives a token. No password is stored in Rhino.

Which Rhino versions work?

The plugin is built for Rhino 8 on Windows. For Rhino 7 there is a Python script that sends views but cannot receive models.
